Dear Sir,

Can you confirm my calculations on Soda useage.

We have a Schmidt pot that holds 2 bags. 50 Lbs each.
5/16 nozzle.

4 painted brick walls total 12,600 sq.ft. One coat paint rollared on.

Your chart shows between 100 and 250 sq.ft. per hour of blasting.

The chart also says with this nozzle the unit would use 900 Lbs/Hr.
At 100 psi and 5/16 nozzle. No water can be used.

I calculate 160-180 hrs. of blasting only no tending included.
That is 18 bags per hour. Or for 180 hours of blasting 3240 bags
of Soda.

Can you check my conclusions please.

What is a normal price for that amount of Soda ?

Is my amount of useage correct?

My address is fredpwoods@yahoo.com

Thank you,
Fred Woods

Mr. Woods,

I assume that the data you are using is from Axxiom's blasting data card. This data provides estimates assuming hard abrasives. The assumptions are much different for soft abarsives such as sodium bicarbonate(Armex). I would recommend that you contact the nearest Armex or soda distributor to help you assess your consumption. Axxiom manufacturers many types of equipment capable of handling soda; however, the application questions will be best answered by the sodium bicarbonate supplier. You can start with the Armex website, www.armex.com.

Good luck!
